2017 USTA Southern Junior Team Tennis (JTT) Sectional Championships

Congratulations to two JTT teams sponsored by Public Tennis Inc. and coached by Robert Brown — Home town Bluffton’s BadKatz and the Grand Slammers from Bob’s home in Georgia. These teams won at the state level to qualify for Southern Sectionals!
Sectional matches were played Aug. 11-13 at the Rome Tennis Center at Berry College in Rome, GA. This year’s event drew the top co-ed 62 teams and about 520 players from Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee.
Although they did not advance to next month’s nationals in Orlando, these championship teams in 14-and-under and 18 and under levels played their hearts out and showed terrific sportsmanship. In fact, Samantha Reilly, Lauren Harvey, and Thor Pullon received the sportsmanship award!
